More about the sessions…

3-5 year old children and their parents / carers are invited to join in the dancing, singing, playing percussion, chanting, and circle games.
There is always plenty of fun and laughter as music is matched to storytelling or movement activities!
We listen to music from around the world, along with live music, and participate in musical games and storytelling.

Shy children are encouraged but if they choose to watch for a while their wishes are respected until they feel more comfortable within the group.
Participating in music sessions helps children with their language, memory and social skills, and working together allows parents/carers to have fun with their children while observing them learn.

Young children have been shown to increase the amount, quality and understanding of speech developed through singing activities such as counting games, nursery rhymes and finger play... It can reinforce mathematical development .... through sequencing and patterning.  Young children can increase the amount, quality and understanding of speech through singing activities.  Music lessons can foster individuality, improve social skills and create more positive attitudes; these effects have been particularly marked in low-ability, disaffected pupils.

Feedback from parents...

Definitely the best music class we've been to.  My child loves it and looks forward to coming. I've seen real progress in her listening skills since we started the class
