That was the best music session I have seen.
You let the children express themselves.
Ofsted Inspector for Hertfordshire

Musical Storytelling sessions with Pippa Reid are an enjoyable and exciting way for teachers and their classes to explore rhythm, language, expression, emotions and patterns in stories, alongside Classical and World music.

This is an incredibly valuable way of working.
I have learned a huge amount. I loved the rip-stop storymaking!

David Heathfield, Bristol

Within the school curriculum, participating in these sessions helps children with their vocabulary, memory, social skills and concentration.

Working together allows teachers to have fun with the children while observing them learn. Sometimes within a story there is a situation that a child may relate to but has not yet found the language to describe, or they may have been too shy to talk about.

The sessions are interactive with movement and props and encouraging ideas from the children themselves. Ideas cover all the senses and with the music create a really holistic experience for all.

The kinesthetic, olfactory, auditory aspects were the most important elements for me.
David Heathfield, Bristol

Sessions last 45 minutes and an ideas booklet, Bringing the Stories Alive! is provided so that you may continue with the storytelling in future classes.

Thanks so much for your work, you were an inspiration!
Catherine Rogers, Youth Arts Officer

It was very successful and atmospheric.
Staff would like to continue with.. the ideas.
The children were interested…..and retold some of the stories at the
end of the day.
The stories were all fun and it was lovely to watch them so enjoying the experience and joining in. Their teacher enjoyed herself too!
